Why is Compliance Really Necessary? By Anna Yakovleva

Anna Yakovleva, Senior Associate at Forte Tax & Law, spoke last Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at an event organized by the Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce and dedicated to questions of compliance and director liability.

How is compliance regulated in Europe and the US? What does compliance confer to business and why is it not catching on in Russia? Anna addressed these and other issues in her presentation. Anna not only spoke about the theoretical side of these issues, but also explained how difficult it is for compliance to thrive in Russia and described in detail how compliance is in fact introduced in organizations.

Top managers, members of the Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce, as well as internal auditors and compliance officers attended this event and shared their experience with compliance as well as successful examples of compliance introduction.
