From September 01, 2021 foreign nationals traveling by plane from certain countries to Russia will need to provide a negative PCR test via the app Traveling Without COVID-19
It used to be mandatory for foreign nationals arriving in Russia to have a negative PCR test taken no more than 3 calendar days prior to their arrival in Russia, but from September 1, 2021, all foreign nationals traveling to Russia by plane from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will be required to provide such test by uploading it to the app Traveling Without COVID-19 as prescribed by Russian Government Decree N 1998-r dated July 20, 2021.
This rule does not apply to foreign nationals from other countries who will arrive in Russia after a transit or short stopover in the abovementioned countries. In such case, foreign nationals will be required to provide a PCR test done no more than 72 hours before crossing the border in the other country from which they flew and their tickets or boarding passes for their entire route.
