Anton Kabakov shared with Business FM his opinion on the workings of the Russian tax system
An article published last week in the Financial Times got the business community talking. In this article, the columnist Chris Giles complimented the Russian tax system and enthused over the technology used by the Federal Tax Service of Russia.
The radio station Business FM asked St. Petersburg tax experts whether they share the admiration expressed by Chris Giles. Anton Kabakov, partner at Forte Tax & Law, shared his opinion on this matter.
According to Anton, although the Federal Tax Service of Russia is currently one of the most technologically advanced public agencies in the country, it is too early to say that the Russian tax system is ahead of others. “No other agency, no other service has an electronic administration system like that of the Federal Tax Service”, noted Anton. Anton also pointed out that other countries had something to learn from the Federal Tax Service because it not only collects but also processes information automatically.
