Natalya Vorobieva spoke at SPIBA tax webinar
St. Petersburg International Business Association (SPIBA) held a webinar on Tuesday April 14, 2020 to discuss tax issues amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Natalya Vorobieva, Associate at Forte Tax & Law, addressed at this webinar two issues relevant to many companies:
- How to defer the payment of taxes and social insurance contributions if none of the anti-crisis tax benefits apply to your company? Natalya gave a detailed account of how companies can apply for a tax deferment or installment plan even if they do not operate in the most affected industries and are not strategic, core and town-forming organizations.
- Increase in the withholding tax rate on dividends and interest. Natalya explained how revising double taxation treaties is fraught with risk and gave practical advice to those whose holdings include dealings with offshore jurisdictions.
