Julia Talagaeva and Mikhail Borodin held a webinar for members of the Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce
Amid the current pandemic, Russian laws are changing literally every day, and since the business community needs to be aware of both the restrictive and business support measures introduced by the Russian government, a webinar on COVID-19: Legal Update was held on Tuesday April 28, 2020 for English-speaking members of the Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce.
Julia Talagaeva, Senior Associate at Forte Tax & Law, broached a wide range of issues, starting with a review of the general restrictive measures introduced in various regions of Russia and ending with the tax, labor and migration aspects of the current crisis. Another issue that was specifically addressed was the inclusion of companies in the SME register even if they are 100% foreign owned. This matter is all the more significant that one of business support means granted to companies in Russia is a reduction in social insurance contributions from 30% to 15% for companies included in the SME register.
