Alina Aleksandrova talks to members of the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce about debt forgiveness and tax accounting for exchange differences in 2022

The Taxes and Financial Reporting Committee of the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce held a meeting in Moscow, on Wednesday, July 13. Alina Aleksandrova, Senior Tax Associate at Forte Tax & Law, gave a presentation at the meeting. Alina spoke about debt forgiveness and tax accounting for exchange differences in 2022.

Alina discussed topical issues related to paragraph 21.5 of Article 251 of the Russian Tax Code, the tax aspects of debt forgiveness, and the types of income and liabilities that are taken in account in determining the tax base. Alina also talked about tax accounting for exchange differences in 2022, distinguishing between positive and negative exchange differences.
