General Director vs. Auditor

St. Petersburg International Business Association (SPIBA) Finance Committee held an event on Thursday November 16, 2017 to discuss the topic of General Director vs. Auditor. Thirty people, including consultants and business representatives, took part in this unusual meeting which was held in a kind of debate. The event attendees were divided into “camps” supporting two opposite views, i.e. one camp upheld that auditors are important and the other …camp defended the opposite view.

Anton Kabakov , Partner at Forte Tax & Law and co-chairman of SPIBA Finance Committee, defended the general director view. Together with his team, Anton Kabakov shed some light on who the real users of audits are and whether audits are necessary in their current form. This heated debate carried on even during the presentations during which pressing issues related to the regulation of the audit institution and tax risks were addressed. The event attendees were also given recommendations on audit preparation.
